2024 4-H Summer Fun

This summer Richmond County 4-H is offering a variety of activities to keep youth having fun and learning throughout the summer. To register for camps, visit the 4-H office. All other registrations can be done on 4honline.com. For registration to be complete payment must be received by the 4-H office. Checks or cash with the exact amount can be brought to the 4-H office or checks can be mailed to 123 Caroline St, Suite 100, Rockingham, NC, 28379. Richmond County 4-H Summer Fun!

Event Price Date Ages Description
DAY CAMP $20 JUNE 13 8-14 Experience the thrills of Millstone 4-H Camp in just one day. You’ll get the chance to hike, swim, canoe, and much more.
DISTRICT ACTIVITY DAY JUNE 18 District Activity Day is a 4-H Presentation public speaking competition for youth to present information on the topic of their choice. Participation in county activity day is required to present.
HAW RIVER CANOE DAY $40 JUNE 21 10+ Youth will spend the day exploring the Haw River on a guided canoe tour. They will learn basic canoe skills while experiencing the local flora and fauna.
RESIDENTIAL CAMP $450 JUNE 23-28 8-14 Spend a week at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe. Youth will have the opportunity to swim, hike, kayak, do ropes courses, shooting sports and much more.
CLOVERBUD CAMP $200 JUNE 30-JULY 2 5-8 Children ages 5-8 will have the chance to go to Millstone 4-H Camp for a 3-day experience. While there, they will canoe, swim, do arts and crafts, hike and more.
SEW MUCH FUN $30 JULY 8-12 11+ 4-H’ers will spend 4 hours a day learning sewing techniques, including Appliqué. By the end of the 5 days they will have created their own quilted wall hanging.
NC DAIRY TOUR $20 JULY 15 10+ Tour NC State’s dairy operation and get a sample of ice cream made from the dairy produced on the farm.
FUR FISH AND GAME CAMP $450 JULY 21-26 11-16 Youth interested in the outdoors, wildlife, hunting, and fishing. Campers participate in the North Carolina Hunter Safety course and may earn their Hunter Safety Certification.
4-H CONGRESS COST TBD JULY 22-26 13-18 Teens spend a week on NC State Campus participating in workshops, state officer elections, a service project, a dance, and more.
FARM TO TABLE COOKING $15 AUGUST 6 8+ Youth will have a tour of The Berry Patch farm. Then, go to the produce stand to buy produce to use as toppings for a homemade pizza made at the Extension office.

Registration is Required

Steps to Register:

  1. Ensure you are enrolled in 4-H Online for 2024
  2. Log onto 4-H Online and go into the “Event” Tab
  3. Select “Register for a new event” and find desired activity. Fill in requested information
  4. Mail or bring payment to: Richmond County Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Richmond County, 123 Caroline Street, Suite 100, Rockingham, NC. 28379

Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Registration will NOT be complete until payment is made. NO REFUNDS will be made unless the class is canceled.
