RCO Voluntary Agricultural District

  • 693 Youth practicing healthy behaviors such as exercising and eating more fruits and vegetables

4-H Clubs

  • 310 Youth between the ages of 5-18 participating in the Junior Master Gardener® program of North Carolina

Impact Highlights

  • 1,140 Acres where Extension-recommended nutrient applications were used
  • NINE producers have increased revenue as a result of Extension guidance
  • 121,000+ pounds of fresh produce donated to vulnerable populations
  • 695 people with improved eating, exercise, and/or food safety practices
  • 1,308 Number of youth enhancing their knowledge of animals & agriculture
  • 32 producers implemented Extension-recommended best practices for animal waste management
  • 124 Number of parents and caregivers increasing their knowledge of positive parenting practices
  • $80,326 Value to the community of Extension-led volunteers, in the areas of youth, health & nutrition, and agriculture
