Hands-on planting and pruning workshop with NC State Extension Blueberry Specialist Bill Cline

Time: 10 a.m.–3 p.m.

10 a.m.–noon Sandhills AGInnovation Center, 1298 Crawford Road Ellerbe Planting demo and hands-on experience. Opportunity to use SAIC equipment for bed building (BCS walk-behind tractor). How much mulch is enough? Come see! Bring your own shovel if possible. Wear gloves, dress for the weather.

Noon–1 p.m. Lunch on site* (see below)

1–3 p.m. Sandhills Research Station, 2148 Windblow Road Jackson Springs (about 5 miles from SAIC)

Travel to the SRS for hands-on pruning demonstration and practice on station blueberries. Bring loppers, pruners, gloves.

 Depending on the weather, time, and interest, an informational powerpoint presentation may be provided as well.

BYOL or reserve a light lunch (sandwich, chips, cookie) ahead of time for $10. Drinks will be provided.
