Respirator fit tests will be offered at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Richmond County Center, on January 10, 2019. Call the office by January 7 at 910.997.8255 to set up a 30-minute appointment to complete the test.
Appointments will start at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. The cost for the test will be $25.00 (please bring a check made payable to the NC Agromedicine Institute). You can also complete the online medical questionnaire before attending. There is a $35.00 cost for the online questionnaire. Please bring a printout to show you have completed the online portion. You can find the test via the Respirator Assessor website or the Online Respirator Medical Evaluation website. If you do not come medically-cleared, then there will be an additional cost of $10 for the medical clearance. Check with local physicians’ offices, urgent care facilities and occupational health clinics to determine whether or not they can provide medical clearance services if you would like.
Helpful hints for the respirator fit testing class and/or a fit testing appointment:
- If you have a respirator from a previous fit testing please bring the respirator and the cartridges the day of the testing.
- You must do the medical clearance prior to attending the class. If you prefer you can use your personal physician and have him/her write: “Your name here is medically cleared and able to wear a respirator. This clearance is good for X year or years.”
