Workshop: Bringing Native Plants Home

Flyer with information about Native Plant Workshop event

More and more, people are realizing the value of supporting native plants in their own yards as well as out in nature. Dr. Doug Tallamy, noted biologist, has highlighted the critical importance of replacing non-native landscape plants with native ones that support insects and wildlife that are currently in crisis. Dr. Tallamy's project, the  Homegrown National Park  is a call to action for homeowners everywhere to contribute to the building of a 20 million acre "national park" made up of private yards and landscapes across the country planted with native plants. This workshop will explain the value of native plants and show participants how to grow their own from seed collected from the region.
