Richmond County 4-H Summer Fun

Health Rocks! $10 June 10 (9am-4pm) Ages 8+ Join us for a day of healthy living activities. Wear clothes and shoes you can move in! Bring your own lunch; we will provide healthy snacks.

Day Camp $10 June 11 (9am-4pm) Ages 5-14 Spend a day at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe! Enjoy canoeing, swimming, hiking, & games. Bring a water bottle, towel, & swimsuit (or wear under their clothes). Lunch will be provided. Our van is open to the first 13 to request transportion from our office (leaving at 8:30am). Parents can drop off youth at camp if they are approved in 4-H Online & Registered in Advance with our office.

District Activity Day June 17 (Must Place At C.A.D.) Participation in 4-H County Activity Day (C.A.D.) is required to present at District Activity Day; a 4-H Presentation public speaking competition for youth. This year, D.A.D. will be held in Stanly County.

Residential Camp $500 June 21-26 Ages 8-14 Spend a week of overnight camp at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe. Youth will have the opportunity to swim, hike, kayak, do ropes courses, shooting sports, outdoor games and much more. Meals, snacks, and a camp tshirt is included. Space is limited.

Young Chefs Camp $40 June 23-26 (9am-12pm) Ages 12+ Young Chef’s Camp is for youth interested in learning hands-on cooking and baking skills. Youth will make a variety of popular foods for their own lunch each day, while learning about nutrition and culinary skills.

Young Chefs Camp $40 June 23-26 (9am-12pm) Ages 12+5-8 will have the chance to go to Millstone 4-H Camp for a 3-day experience. While there, they will canoe, swim, do arts and crafts, hike and more. Space is limited.

Coding Camp $20 July 15 & 16 (10am-3pm) Ages 10+ Transform screen time into skill time! Spend 2 days learning about Swift Playgrounds, an Apple coding program for youth. Bring your own lunch; snacks will be provided.

4-H Congress Cost TBD July 20-24 Ages 13+ Active 4-H Teens spend a week on NC State University campus participating in leadership workshops, civic engagement, state officer elections, a community service project, & more.

Fur Fish and Game Camp $500 July 19-24 Ages 11-16 At Millstone 4-H Camp experience the outdoors, wildlife, hunting, and fishing. Campers will participate in the NC Hunter Safety course and may earn their Hunter Safety Certification. Space is limited!

"Sew" Much Fun $20 July 27-29 (9am-12pm) Ages 8+ 4-H'ers will spend 3 half days learning sewing techniques, and making their own items. No experience is needed. A supply list and snacks will be provided.

NC State University Dairy Farm & Museum Tour July 28 (8:30am-3:30pm) Ages 9+ $20 Youth will travel to Raleigh, tour both facilities, and enjoy Howling Cow ice cream. Wear closed toe shoes, bring bagged lunch & a water bottle.

Richmond County 4-H Summer Fun 2026 Registration is Now OPEN!

Registration Is Easy As 1, 2, 3:

1. Enroll in 4-H: 4-H Online Enrollment is required, and must be updated for 2026, before you can register for any 4-H activities.

2. Register and make payment at: N.C. Cooperative Extension, Richmond County Center 123 Caroline Street, Suite 100 (4-H office) in Rockingha. Please bring exact amount of cash or check made payable to Richmond County 4-H. We are unable to accept credit/debit cards.

3. Arrive with listed items in the activity description to enjoy 4-H Summer Fun! All activities will meet at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Richmond County Center, unless the activity instructs you to meet at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe.

Note:

  • Registration is on a first come first serve basis and is not complete until payment is made.
  • Registration payments are non-refundable, unless an activity is cancelled by our office. If so, we will offer a refund or transfer payment to another 4-H activity, if space allows.
