4-H After School Adventures
WHAT IS AFTER SCHOOL ADVENTURES?
The After School Adventures Program provides an enrichment experience for elementary school age children in selected school sites of the Onslow County School System. While the program does provide for after school care, the intent is to supply enriching, educational and fun experiences for those children who participate.
Activities will range from physical recreation to arts and crafts, games, reading, homework time, music, films, and 4-H projects. Children will be provided the daily opportunity to eat a nutritional snack provided by the Onslow County Schools Child/Nutrition Program.
HOW DO I ENROLL MY CHILD?
A completed application form, fees contract, and registration agreement must be completed for each child who will attend the program. Fees must be included with completed application packet. Registration must be done in person or via the mail. Registrations will not be taken over the phone.
Since the After School Adventures Program is a self-supported effort, we must pre-register 15 children before July 15, 2016 to ensure a working program at your school’s site for the 2016 – 2017 school year. Pre-registration will begin May 16, 2016. You may pre-register your child at the Cooperative Extension Service Office (check payable to Onslow County Schools) or make inquires to:

Registration information is available at currently existing sites through the end of the school year, but all registration material for the 2016-2017 school year must be mailed to or turned in at the N.C. Cooperative Extension Center, 4024 Richlands Hwy. Jacksonville, NC 28540. After August 12th, please register your child with the program site director at the school where your child will be attending. (Check payable to Onslow County Schools.)

WHEN IS AFTER SCHOOL ADVENTURES HELD?
The After School Adventures Program operates on regularly scheduled school days, beginning with the first day of school for students on August 29, 2016. Care is provided on early release days except when inclement weather is involved. Full day care will be provided on four selected teacher workdays during the school year. The After School Adventures Program concludes with the last day students attend class on June 9, 2017.
Program hours are from the time school is dismissed until 6:00 PM on regularly scheduled school days. The program will operate from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM for designated teacher workdays. Children should bring a “bag lunch” for extended day sessions.
The program will not be in operation on holidays, teacher workdays connected with holiday periods, and/or scheduled leave days when the school facility will be closed.

Paid before July 15, 2016 $45.00
Paid after July 15, 2016 $50.00

Teacher Work Day Fee $12.00
Late Pick-up Fee $ 5.00
(each 15 minutes per child)
The registration fee is non-refundable with the only exception being that the program does not make at your site. Weekly fees are for contracted services and will be assessed to your account whether the child attends the program or not. Fees should be paid on a weekly or monthly basis in advance, due on the first operating day of the week or month. Attendance on teacher workdays is optional and the additional teacher workday fee will be waived if the child is not in attendance on that day.
There are NO ARRANGEMENTS FOR PART-TIME OR DROP-IN CARE.
