The Richmond Roots Garden Club "sprouted" in the spring of 2023, an off-shoot of gardening classes provided by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Richmond County Center. It's been growing strong, with new participants joining as they hear from friends and neighbors about the camaraderie, good gardening information, hands-on opportunities, and interesting field trips people are enjoying. The club meets the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm, at the Ag Services Center in Rockingham (123 Caroline Street). The program typically lasts about an hour, though sometimes the enthusiastic sharing and visiting may go a little longer. Anyone interested in gardening and nature is welcome to attend; from the experienced horticulturist to the novice gardener, all will find something new and fun.
The Planning Committee has developed another great list of programs and activities for 2025. Please join us! For more information, call the Extension Office at 910-997-8255.Richmond Roots Garden Club 2025 Schedule
