4-H Spring Events
4-H PEAK series
4-H PEAK programs were designed by – and – will be lead by this year’s State 4-H Council members. PEAK programs start on February 15th and run through July 9, 2021. Sessions include Showing Animals, The 4-H Pet Parade, It’s A Tea Party, 4-H Goes Red: Get Your Blood Pumping, Dr Seuss Day, Mustache March – A Flying Ace, Theatre Magic Kahoot! Challenge, Hip Hop 4-H Style: Line Dancing, Keeping it Green – Earth Day, Many Voice, Many Stories – The Cherokee, Parliamentary Procedure, Teamwork Games with A Purpose, 4-H Yoga, The 4-H Olympics, and The Scoop: A 4-H Dessert Social.
Registration for 4-H PEAK is OPEN now in 4-HOnline 2.0. Any “approved” member can see the Event now on their “Member Page” (this is the page families land on when they log in). Registration is open to all members (cloverbuds, youth members and volunteers) -AND- it is open to youth who are NOT members of 4-H if they would like to create a *New Family “Participant” profile in 4-HOnline 2.0.
2021 Poultry Project
All Zoom links will be the same. Everyone should attend the showmanship class in March and the last session, May 13 so you are prepared for the show. To learn about each breed, attend the breed classes. Breed classes are required for youth with that breed and optional for those that just want to learn.

County Activity Day
May 1st, appointment only
County Activity Day is our county’s annual talent and 4-H presentation competition. It’s time for youth to start preparing for 4-H Presentations and 4-H Talent!
Once registered, Catherine Shelley (4-H Agent) will reach out to all registrants to set up a time for presentations to happen in person on Saturday, May 1st. Talent competitions will be done by pre-recorded video and are due no later than April 30.
To participate in talent or presentations, you MUST pre-register by April 16, 2021. To register for Presentations or Talent please fill out this form: County Activity Day (due by April 16)
Those who qualify for District and/or State level in 4-H Presentations & Talent will participate at that level via pre-recorded video. Outdoor Cookery competitions will be held IN-PERSON for 2021! Those participating at the county level will be contacted about competing/practicing in-person prior to district competition. District Outdoor Cookery will be held on June 25 at N.C. Cooperative Extension-Rowan County Center. State Outdoor Cookery will be held in Fall 2021 (more info to come).
Beginners Icing and Decorating Class
Join 4-H Volunteer, Jennifer Munn, as she teaches 11-18 year olds the foundational skills of decorating and icing cakes and cupcakes.
Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m.

You will receive the Zoom link each week prior to the class via email. Things youth will learn: Vocabulary, Equipment/Tools, Crumb and Base Ice Cakes, Pipe cupcakes, Borders, basic flowers and leaves, Writing and Lettering, Tinting and more! Registering for this class ensures your free decorating kit that includes almost everything you need. In addition to this free kit, you will need to have pre-made and completely cooled cakes and cupcakes to decorate, small bowls, butter knives, and dish detergent.
