Fall colors at the arboretum you won’t want to miss! Volunteer with us today!

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Forsyth County Center, will hold their annual Fall Volunteer Workday at the Arboretum and Gardens at Tanglewood Park from 9 a.m.–noon on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Join fellow volunteers for fall gardening at the Arboretum. If you don’t normally volunteer at the Arboretum, this is the perfect opportunity to help out one of Forsyth County’s best horticultural destinations and to learn more about the gardens from Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers who work there all year.

Cooperative Extension relies on volunteers to assist with maintenance of the Arboretum as an educational space for Forsyth County residents to learn about horticulture. Please note that volunteer tasks may be physical, and work will occur outside. Volunteers should expect to get dirty. Be sure to wear gardening clothes, including comfortable, closed-toe shoes and long pants (recommended). Bring water, gardening gloves, and your favorite garden tool. Extra gloves and tools will be available for volunteer use.

We welcome volunteers, ages 12 and older, to participate in this opportunity. Participants under the age of 18 will need to submit a liability release form signed by their parent or guardian.

The location of the arboretum is at: 4201 Manor House Circle, Clemmons, NC 27012. Admission into Tanglewood Park is free. Tell the gate attendant that you are volunteering at the Arboretum Workday.

Registration is required. To learn more about the event and register, please visit: www.go.ncsu.edu/2019FallWorkday

Accommodation requests related to a disability should be made at least 10 days prior to the event by contacting Kim Gressley, County Extension Director, at (336) 703-2850 or by email at ksgressl@ncsu.edu.
