Notice of NC Flue-Cured Tobacco Referendum January 30

Notice is hereby given that a check-off referendum will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in each flue-cured producing county in North Carolina.

Flue-cured tobacco growers will vote on continuing their support of export promotion and expansion for US flue-cured tobacco by Tobacco Associates, Inc. for the marketing years 2019, 2020, 2021. The referendum will be conducted by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service. Polling places will be open during normal business hours at each flue-cured producing County N.C. Cooperative Extension office. Other polling locations may be announced by the County N.C. Cooperative Extension office. The referendum will include the question of continuance of the authorization of annual assessments not to exceed one-fifth (1/5) of one cent per pound. The exact assessment to be approved by the North Carolina Tobacco Associates Board members. Call the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Richmond County Center for more information at 910.997.8255.
